Would I have to go to marine corps basic training if I went to basic already for the navy reserves? ?

To be a Marine you must first go through basic training no matter what training you’ve been through.

Yes you have to complete boot camp before you are a Marine.
And you need to choose an MOS that you like to do. Dont choose one that is “cool” or you think might be fun. If your interested in mechanics then stick to that.
Just be well aware that the two branches are nothing alike. So I hope you know what your getting into. The USMC is not for everyone and not everyone can get in.

I dont care if your the CPO of the Navy, you will go through boot.

The Marines require everybody to take Marine boot camp to become a Marine.
If you aren’t smart enough for aviation the Marines will have no problem putting you in the Infantry.
Jet Aviation
YES. No matter how much Prior service you have EVERYBODY goes through Marine Boot Camp. they are the only branch that requires this.
