Can anyone explain/describe to me the type of jobs in Aviation Support ( U.S Marines ) do?
Will they see combat as much as infantry? Also, what does it mean when they say, ‘every marine is a rifleman’?
is it true that there are people in the marines and the navy on the aircraft carriers, that they can have the same jobs dealing with aircraft on these ships? does anyone actually know for a fact?
also, if this is true, are marines on the ships less or for shorter periods of time?

Marines PLC-Aviation Question?
I’m considering going to Marines PLC this summer for 10-weeks. I recently talked to a Marine OSO and told him I want to become a pilot. He told me that if I complete PLC I don’t have to commit right away to the Marines, but if I want to do the PLC-Aviation option I would have to commit right away. He also said that if I do PLC-Aviation I could receive tuition assistance. I told him I would think about it and would do more research. I have found that if a person does either PLC-Aviation or Ground, they may be ordered to active duty as an enlisted Marine for not more than 4 years.
Does that mean I would have to leave college?
Could I be accepted into PLC-Aviation and not receive tuition assistance in order to avoid being called to active duty as an enlisted while in college?
I really want to become a Marine pilot, but I would like to finish my degree first. I’m just trying to understand all this before I make a decision.

Marines Aviation Enlisted Aircrew Training School?
How long is the Marines Aviation Enlisted Aircrew Training School in Pensacola, FL? I have a friend who will be attending it once he graduates from the MCRD at Parris Island and his friends and family are wondering; and I can’t find it anywhere on the Internet.

what exactly does marine in aircrew/crew chief or something like that do? my recruiter said he can get that job and that its a really good job in aviation. i think it has to do with having to repair the plane/chopper while its in flight?

Marine Corps only branch of service that guarantees aviation?
I’m Marine Corps veteran I’m almost done with school and I plan on going back into the military to fly planes, my passion. My question, is the Marine Corps the only branch of service that guarantees aviation if you pass the military flight aptitude skills test? The AF won’t take prior service so that leaves Navy, Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard. The Army only flies rotary wing, I want to fly fixed wing. I would like to explore other branches since I am a Marine vet. But I would not mind going back to the Corps if they are the only branch of service that guarantees aviation. And I’m sure I would pass OCS and TBS with flying colors.
Is the Marine Corps the only branch of service that guarantees aviation?
Thanks all

Do Marine Corp NFOs or Pilots lead any enlisted men or women?
I like the prospect of joining the Marines as an officer so I could be a leader ( a good one ), but alot of the Air Officer jobs are appealing to me. Let’s say I got a PLC Air contract, would there be any Commisioned Officer Aviation jobs where I could lead enlisted Marines? Like the crew to some cargo plane or something?

Would I have to go to marine corps basic training if I went to basic already for the navy reserves? ?
I received an administrative discharge under honorable conditions from the navy reserve october 07. I did not serve my entire contract. I want to join the Marine Corps.(active duty). Would I have to go to basic training even though I went to Navy basic? How would this work? Also what are the best marine corps mos. (their all great but opinions will work). I’m interested in an infantry type mos or something dealing with aviation.

Marine Officer Chance Of Getting A Particular MOS?
Now I know that a newly commissioned 2nd Lt must take whatever MOS awarded to them by the USMC, and is lucky for it. But I’m wondering if there are any specific qualities that could get a certain Specialty barring any predetermined contract like Aviation or Law. I’m thinking like a certain degree from college or a certain test score on a military test ( ASVABs for enlisted right?) or hows that work?
How do they decide a Marine Officers specialty?
